“After Stroke” Consultations

Leslie Ritter, RN, PhD, offers private consultations to stroke survivors and their families/caregivers regarding what to expect after a stroke.  Dr. Ritter has over 30 years experience providing direct care to patients and families as an intensive care nurse, as a coordinator for a hospital stroke center and currently as the Director of the Stroke Resource Center of Southern Arizona.  Consultations typically last an hour and can be conducted by phone, by ZOOM or in-person*  Dr. Ritter will connect you with other resources that you might need.

AZ State Health Insurance Assistance Program

Pima Council on Aging offers a free health insurance benefits counseling service for Medicare beneficiaries, caregivers and their families. PCOA is the local Arizona SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) and a partner of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  Medicare counselors can explain your options, assist you in comparing plans and help you understand how Medicare works with other plans.
